Joana Rodrigues

Joana started her musical studies at the age of 8 in Conservatório Regional de Setúbal, where she studied with António Figueiredo until her graduation with distinction in 2017. In 2021, Joana completed her undergraduate degree in Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD), where she studied with Simon Fischer. Joana is currently doing her MMus degree in Performance (Orchestral Artistry) in GSMD with Stephanie Gonley and Ofer Falk.

Joana is an extra player with Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa (OSP) and frequently plays with other orchestras, such as Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa (OCP), Orquestra XXI, Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa. Joana has played under the baton of Semyon Bychkov, Roberto Gonzalez-Monjas, Vassily Sinaisky and has worked with acclaimed musicians, such as Zsolt- Tihamér Visontay, Robert Levin, Levon Chilingirian.

Joana won the 1st prize in the Montijo National Competition in 2016 and has been awarded scholarships and bursaries from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (OSJ), Gestão dos Direitos dos Artistas (GDA) and Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa.

Joana enjoys a freelance career in teaching, chamber music and orchestral playing.
