Venezuelan born Pianist Joseph Costi started playing piano at a young age at the Conservatorio Jose Reyna. Later he studied composition with Maria Eugenia Atilano and piano with Bruna Monestiroli (classical) and Gerry Weil (jazz).

In 2011 Costi moves to London to study at LCCM (London College of Creative Media) with Roland Perrin, Dave O’Higgins and Simon Wallace and finished his degree at Middlesex University in 2014 having studied with Nikki Iles, Stuart Hall, Gareth Williams, Chris Batchelor and Rob Townsend. Joseph also got involved in Barak School’s Rhythms of the City where he studied and performed for 2 years.

After graduating, Costi became an in demand pianist in the London jazz scene playing with different artists and bands and performing in the UK and Europe. As a side man he has recorded and toured with Caravela, Twospeak, Anoushka Lucas, Adam Teixeira, Telajeta (winner of the LUKAS awards 2017), Karl Rasheed Abel, Felix Rossy and has performed with Liran Donin, Heidi Vogel, Sean Khan, Martin Speak among others.

Joseph has been teaching classical, jazz and ensemble at CYM (centre for young musicians) since 2014. He also designed a programme for students to learn piano as a second instrument at Middlesex University.
