In 2019 Eirian graduated from the Royal College of Music with first class honours in his BMus. In the same year he received first place in the RCM Guitar Competition and performed at the Wigmore Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum and at the Hay Literary Festival in Wales. Along with these highlights, Eirian has also performed in Southern Spain with Gary Ryan, played Rodrigo’s Fantasia para un Gentilhombre with Ieuan Jones in a special arrangement for harp ensemble and guitar, and has performed contemporary music by Matthew Lomax with composer and viola player Nathanael Gubler. Along with these appearances, Eirian has also played in Kings Place, the National Portrait Gallery, Home House and the NED hotel, London.
During Eirian’s time at the Royal College of Music he took part in numerous masterclasses at home and abroad with some of the world’s top guitarists, including Xufei Yang, Judicael Perroy, Gabriel Bianco and Antigoni Goni.
For the past year Eirian has been leader of the NYGE Fellowship Ensemble, directed by Helen Sanderson. Formed of top guitarists from around the UK, the Ensemble has played numerous concerts in England and Wales, has commissioned special arrangements and has done outreach workshop projects with the World Youth Guitar Festival.
Prior to his move to London, Eirian was awarded the Walker Prize from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as a junior guitarist. He was also supported by the Hereford Police Male Choir bursary award. He then went on the receive first prizes in the South Wales Guitar Competition and the Chichester Festival of the Arts Guitar Competition.
Along with his classical pursuits, Eirian has taken his interests in jazz/hip-hop and is currently producing a new project with pianist Laura Serra, bassist Pau Enric Serra and percussionist Joan Isbet, called Alanaire.
