The Spanish pianist, Daniel Ruiz Hurtado, studied in Barcelona in “Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, ESMUC” under the direction of Pierre Réach. His musicianship and his spontaneous approach to piano playing have led him to win several acknowledgments.
He was awarded a school exchange with Moscow's famous Gnessin School of Music where he could work with the school's professors. Moreover, he received a scholarship from the Anna Riera foundation to finish his studies in Barcelona obtaining honours in the specialty of piano playing a whole opus of Chopin Etudes. He has had the oportunity to work with great music masters such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Joaquín Achúcarro, Edith Fischer, Claudio Martinez Mehner and Tatiana Zelikman, among others.
His sensitivity and imagination endow him with great musical talent and creativity, due to this he has obtained many recognitions in piano competitions in Catalonia and the possibility of playing as a soloist the Bach's Concerto in F minor with the young Symphonic Orchestra of Valles. His interest in the music of Chopin aroused in him a deep admiration, so much so that it has been proposed to play all his music in the next years. In 2018, he was awarded a Master’s degree at the prestigious Royal College of Music with a scholarship to study with Sofya Gulyak and Ashley Wash.
