Music Lessons at John Betts Primary School
What’s on Offer
John Betts started with Pelican Music in September 2015 there are now over 60 children learning instruments during schools time.
John Betts has its own Orchestra plus Ukulele and Song Monkeys after-school clubs.
Students can learn an instrument right from Reception. Currently we offer the following:
Reception - Violin and Cello
Year 1 - Violin, Cello, Guitar and Piano
Year 2 - Violin, Cello, Guitar, Piano, Woodwind, and Drums
We would also be delighted to offer the following instruments, subject to a minimum sign-up requirement of 5 students:
Brass (Year 2 and up)
Students will need access to their own instrument for the duration of their lessons and to be able to practise at home. You may already have an instrument at home, or our teachers will be happy to assist parents in sourcing an appropriate instrument at low cost.

We ask all parents to sign an agreement and we’ll also help you set up a Direct Debit, to make paying for lessons quick and easy. Then we’re ready to start your lessons.Start Lessons
We’ll introduce you to your teacher, who will advise you on any questions around instruments and books, as well as what day your lessons will take place.
